For the past 25 years, Marty Knapp has been photographing the landscapes of Northern California and the surrounding areas near Point Reyes. Channeling the great American landscape photographers like Ansel Adams, Knapp photographs with a large format camera, hauling it up and down mountains and cliffs in search of the ideal landscape. In the film, Knapp discusses his move away from the party life and into photography in his 30s. Since then, he has been disciplined in the medium mastering the technical elements of photographing and printing while searching for an emotional quality in his imagery.
