Seeing with Animals
Deadline: December 12
Eastern Kentucky University
The relationship between animals and humans is complex, varied and a long one that has spanned millennia, adapting and metamorphosing, in a physical as well as metaphoric and imaginative capacity. This competition invites submissions of work that respond to the Seeing with Animals conference theme, Co-existence, however you express and represent the relationship between animal and man. Works produced in all media are welcome. An exhibition booklet will be published, and the selected artwork will be included in an online exhibition, as well as being digitally displayed during the conference.
Artists who are selected for the exhibition will be invited to submit an artist book relating to the Co-existence theme, which will be on display for the duration of the conference. At the end of the conference, artist books will be donated to the Living with Animals Conference Collection in Special Collections and Archives at the Crabbe Library on the Eastern Kentucky University campus. The books will be accessible to the students in the Human Animal Studies major at EKU as well as other library users and researchers.
