Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Fellow for Photography
Working with the Curator of Photographs and the DDCA, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Fellow for Photography will play an active role in all aspects of the Prints, Drawings, and Photographs Department. The Fellow is expected to engage fully with various communities and constituencies in New Orleans, working with established partners and establishing new relationships. The Fellow will be responsible for research on the permanent collection and potential acquisitions, original research and writing for museum publications, and assistance with the organization of several exhibitions. The Fellow will also be responsible for the organization of at least one exhibition of his/her design. Additionally, the Fellow will participate in the formulation and implementation of museum programs (lectures, docent training, community outreach), as well as departmental responsibilities (which include assisting visiting scholars and classes, attending curatorial meetings, and writing forms for acquisitions) and inter- departmental initiatives.
This is a two-year fellowship, with the option to renew for one additional year.
