Tulsa Residency Program for Artists and Writers
The Tulsa Artist Fellowship (TAF) recognizes excellent artists and writers and provides them the resources to live and work in Tulsa and contribute to its vital visualand literary art scene. The TAF provides an unrestricted stipend of $20,000, free housing and workspace to visual artists. The TAF encourages artists from all across the country to apply and requires all fellows to reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the duration of the fellowship. The number of Fellowships awarded will vary but the goal is to award between five and fifteen Fellowships for each category in 2018.
The Tulsa Artist Fellowship: Visual Arts is a one year fellowship with an option to renew for a second and third year. The Tulsa Artist Fellowship: Writers is a two year fellowship with an option to renew for a third year.
For 2018, TAF will awarded fellowships in two categories: Visual Arts and Writing. For Visual Artists, fellowships will be awarded in Public and/or Gallery Oriented Visual Artists of all kinds. For Writers, TAF will award fellowships to writers focused on Creative Nonfiction, Fiction, Graphic Novel, Young-Adult Fiction, Poetry, and Play/Screen Writing. The TAF committee encourages applicants at all stages of their career to apply.
Public Art is defined by TAF as any type of art in which it was planned with the intention of being staged in the public domain accessible to all. Gallery Oriented Visual Art is defined by TAF as any medium or visual art that is exhibited in public or private museum, gallery or art center.
