Concordia University: Investigating Identity

Investigating Identity
Deadline: February 2

Concordia University
Ann Arbor, MI

Juror: Nancy Thayer

INVESTIGATING IDENTITY, the 2018 Kreft Juried National Exhibition, will examine our notions about the formation of the self. What are the constituent parts of “identity” and how do we understand and represent them? How much of an individual’s identity is personal and self-constructed and how much of it depends on something socially created? How do our current conceptions of self, of soul, of personality resemble or differ from those of earlier periods?

Prints, drawings, paintings, photographs, digital images, sculpture, fiber art and video are eligible.

The artist chosen as “Best of Show” will receive a solo exhibition in the Kreft Gallery at Concordia University Ann Arbor in the 2018-2019 gallery season.

Only original artwork produced within the past five years will be accepted—reproductions are not permitted.

Fees: $25
