The The Jentel Artist Residency Program offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development. Artists and writers experience unfettered time to allow for thoughtful reflection on the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural and historical integrity of the land. The program welcomes visual artists in all media, writers in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry and playwrights.offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development. Eligibility:  Any visual artist or writer over 25 currently residing in the United States or any U.S. citizen living abroad is eligible. Individuals currently enrolled in an academic institution are ineligible to apply until after they complete their program. Age, ethnicity, gender, or religious associations are of no significance in considering individuals for residency awards.

Studio:  In a low tech and equipment free environment, the studios offer visual artists a place that is only limited by the imagination. The space honors the creative process with time to explore, experiment, refine, and develop in the world of ideas without the need to fully realize a product. The cozy and comfortable writer studios, the visual artist studios and the residence have Wifi access.

Stipend:  Each resident receives a $400 stipend distributed in weekly increments to help defray living and meal preparation expenses during the program. Residents are responsible for transportation to and from Sheridan and for transporting or shipping personal items, materials and equipment needed for creative work. Residents also shop and prepare meals and purchase personal items.
