Promo of the Week: Ian Teh

Promotional materials are essential for photographers of all disciplines. Each week we feature an outstanding promo based on its design, cleverness, and ability to accurately reflect the photographer’s aesthetic.

Photographer: Ian Teh

For unusually shaped photographs, the standard postcard just doesn’t cut it. Ian Teh’s elongated cards are perfectly suited to his panoramic images of China’s Yellow River. The sturdy cardstock keeps them from feeling flimsy or bookmarkish and the lack of glossy finish allows for the full range of the subtle color palate to come through. Designed to accompany his Photoville exhibition, the cards comprise a set of five, each one with a different photograph on the front. The long shape allows for more information about the project than is common. The back of the card contains a project statement and a brief biography of the artist.
