The One Roll Residency
Deadline: May 1
San Francisco, CA
The One Roll Residency is our way to strengthen the photographic arts community. The program provides materials, opportunities, and technical assistance to the chosen artist. The opening and exhibition create a space for people to come together, for artists to meet each other, and to introduce people to the power of the print. Both the residency and the exhibition are an opportunity to educate our audience about the specifics and strengths of fine art printing.
We will provide an artist with an entire roll of paper to produce either a new body of work or continue to build upon a project that they have already begun. They will receive studio space and the option to exhibit in our Studio 2W Gallery.
In establishing our residency program, LightSource is further committing to using the existing infrastructure we have built in order to support living, working artists. We want to continue to educate our community about the importance of fine art papers and fine art printing.
LightSource invites artists to submit applications for 2019. We encourage artists of all disciplines to apply. We will consider all types of work so long as they can be translated into works on paper. We are looking for artists who are interested in alternative methods of presentation and are open to experimentation when it comes to working with fine art printing. Artist must be local to the Bay Area to be considered.
