Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts

Artist Residency
Deadline: September 1

Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts
Saratoga, WY

Brush Creek Foundation for The Arts is a non-profit organization offering time and space for artistic exploration to visual artists, writers, musicians and composers from all backgrounds, level of expertise, media and genres. Proposals for self-directed, creative residencies must be compatible with available working studio spaces, facilities, and resources. Artistic merit and promise are the basis for selections. Both established and emerging artists are encouraged to apply. Any person over the age of 18 is eligible. English language skills are required.

Residencies are three weeks in length. This depends on availability and applicant’s ranking in the jury process. The Winter/Spring artist retreats run from January – May.

A jury of professionals from the arts and humanities rank residents based on submitted work samples in a competitive selection process for our artist residency programs. Director assigns awards based on juror ranking and submitted proposal.

Each resident is offered private living accommodations with an extra-long twin bed, private bath, and separate studio space. Linens and bedding are provided in addition to a cozy bathrobe and warm blankets. Family/Western style lunches and dinners are prepared by our chef and shared in the common area. Breakfast items are provided for residents to prepare on their own. Food allergies, vegetarian and gluten-free dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice. Please contact the director for more information. Please note that we are in a remote location with limited food options. You may need to supplement your own food supplies if you have dietary restrictions. Residents will have the option of taking a shuttle to the Saratoga grocery store once a week to purchase supplemental food items. Residents are responsible for clean-up of the kitchen area.

Residents are responsible for all necessary supplies for their work and transportation costs. A shuttle service is provided both to and from the ranch and Laramie Regional Airport.

Fees: $40
