Polaroid photographs often struggle to be reproduced in a manner that does justice to their nature as a unique physical object. This accordion style booklet is an excellent representation of the work. The size is similar to the original Polaroids, but leaves room for text. The title written in Korean characters provides a glimpse into the content of the work, which focuses on North Korea’s media.
Unfolding to reveal a series of images, the linear sequence gives an idea of what the work might look like on display. The back of the booklet includes a map for context of the project, a well written and thoughtful statement about the work along with more images. We love the clean, minimal design that perfectly reflects the Eastern aesthetic.
