Prior to the late 1890s, color photography was considered a pipe dream—something that only madmen would claim to have accomplished. Today’s photographers take for granted the technological achievements that made recording the vibrant hues of their environment possible. Whether red inspires images of first loves or leaves in the fall, for Seeing Red, Don’t Take Pictures presents photographs that feature red as the prominent color.
