How can you make your postcards stand out in a pile? Eliza Lamb’s solution is to make them bigger. Her oversized postcards are 6x8.5 rather than the typical 4x6, and while they do stand out for their size, the simple design and quiet imagery prevents them from looking garish. The large size also brings them closer to the physical prints, which range from 10x10 to 20x20. Lamb, who briefly worked as a graphic designer just after art school, has created a set of four cards, each with an image from one of her four favorite bodies of work. Together they form a package that succinctly represents her entire portfolio. The large size of the postcards, while unwieldy for certain situations, have a substantial feel to them that makes the recipient feel they are holding something more valuable than a standard promo.
